Travel Vaccination Service.

Start preparing for your trip at least six weeks before you go.

Our Travel Clinic is very busy, so we advise making arrangements for your travel vaccinations well in advance. If we cannot offer you a suitable appointment, there are alternative travel clinics available.

At Merstow Green Medical Practice we are currently only providing travel vaccinations that are covered by the NHS. If you require specific vaccinations and they are not covered by the NHS, you will need to attend a private clinic.

Please complete a Travel Vaccination Form by clicking the button below, so that an appointment can be made for you. Alternatively, you can call the Practice and be sent a form by text.

It’s important to make your initial appointment as early as possible, as a second appointment will need to be made to actually receive any necessary vaccinations. Most vaccines have to be specifically ordered, so it’s best to have your first appointment at least 6 weeks before your travels and another appointment 2 weeks before you travel, to allow the vaccines to take effect.

Diazepam Prescribing:

We want to make you aware that we will not be able to prescribe diazepam for patients who have a fear of flying. The prescribing guidelines that all doctors should adhere to are very clear that this medication should not be prescribed for this reason and that there are significant risks to patients in doing so. We recognise the difficulty that this may pose for those patients who are unable to travel by alternative transport so if you do choose to fly we would recommend attending a fear of flying course which has proven to be successful for many individuals.

Fear of Flying courses are run by the airlines, and we have listed a number of these below.
