Dr John Egan: Dr Egan has been in General Practice since 1998 and at Merstow Green Medical Practice since 2002. He has also previously worked in a hospice and served in the Army. He has special interests in Diabetes and Palliative Care medicine.
BMedSci BMBS (Nottingham), MRCP, MRCGP. Qualified in 1988.
Dr Emma Shackley: Dr Shackley has worked in General Practice since 1995 and at Merstow Green Medical Practice since 1997. Her interests include rheumatology and bone health, women's health and family planning (she is the GP at the practice who fits the Nexplanon contraceptive implants). She has recently qualified as a GP trainer and the practice has been awarded training status, welcoming their first GP trainee in the summer of 2020.

Dr Reddy: Dr Reddy qualified as a GP in 2007 and joined the practice as a partner in 2015. He has special interests in ENT. Dr Reddy also does Joint Injections and Minor surgery within the Practice.

Dr Rebekah Grayson: Dr Grayson qualified from Warwick Medical School in 2007. She previously worked in secondary care where she trained in Women's Health before moving over to General Practice. Dr Grayson has special interests in gynaecology including HRT, contraception and coil fits. She also is a GP trainer and supports the trainees based in our practice. She has been with us here at Merstow Green Medical Practice since August 2020 and became a Partner at the Surgery in September 2021

Our Practice Manager is responsible for the overall management of the Practice.
Alison is our Office Manager whose primary responsibility is the management of the Administrative/Reception team.
Patient Liaison Manager
Colette is available to guide and assist patients in services offered both in-house and locally. Should you have any concerns, Colette will be happy to discuss these with you.
IT/Admin Department – our IT and Admin support team are responsible for the updating of computer held medical records.
Medical Secretaries – our Medical Secretaries are responsible for dealing with hospital referrals, Practice correspondence and many general queries that are not dealt with by the receptionists. They are also responsible for the administration of e-Referrals.
Reception/Telephonists – our team of receptionists and telephonists help to keep the Practice running smoothly. They are there to assist you in making emergency and routine appointments to see your GP and deal with any queries you may have. They are trained to do a difficult and demanding job and are there to help you. At times the Practice can become extremely busy, so we ask you to be patient.
You will be seen regularly throughout your pregnancy by the Midwife and/or Doctor and at hospital. Please always bring a urine sample in a clean bottle to your antenatal appointment. Your immediate postnatal care will be provided by the Midwife team, with your postnatal check being provided by a Doctor around 6 weeks after the birth. You will be provided with contact telephone numbers to enable you to contact a Midwife at any time if you have concerns or problems.
A team of Community Nurses are attached to the Practice and are in daily contact with Doctors and other members of the Practice team. Patients who are confined to their homes and need nursing care may arrange with a Doctor for a Community Nurse to call. The hospital may arrange directly for a Community Nurse to call on patients discharged from hospital.
Our Health Visitors are available to give advice and help on health care, particularly for expectant mothers, babies, children (including child health, breastfeeding, and post-natal depression), the elderly and disabled. You may be referred by your Doctor or you may contact them yourself.
Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counsellor
The Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counsellor provides counselling for people with alcohol or drug related problems. Referral is through your Doctor.
Our Dispensary team, headed by Alison, is able to advise you on matters related to your medication and will process all of your prescriptions.
The Dispensary is open from 8.00-6.00pm Monday to Friday.
