Repeat Prescribing Requests

Please be aware that we will be moving from 48 hours to 72 hours notice for repeat prescription requests from April 2020.

Repeat prescriptions

Patient Access now allows patients to view their medical records, however due to this, your access may have been restricted when logging into Patient Access to reorder prescriptions.  Please bring a photograph and proof of address identifications into the Practice and our Reception Liaison Team will reinstate your access.

A recent change to the Patient Online Services system asks patients to nominate a pharmacy.  This is not necessary for dispensing patients who collect their medication from the Practice. Dispensing patients should therefore click the ‘not now’ option when asked to nominate a pharmacy and your medication will continue to be dispensed in the same way.

You will only be prompted with the ‘Nominate a pharmacy’ screen when you first request repeat medication through the new service. Selecting Not now will generate the request as normal.  The ‘Not now’ option is shown in the screenshot below:

The Online Service also allows you to view a summary of your medical records, medication list, allergies and immunisations.  If you experience problems accessing your Online Services account, please contact the Practice on 01386 765600.

Repeat Prescriptions

If your GP has advised long-term drug therapy, repeat prescriptions can be ordered by:

  • Telephone on 01386 768131 from 9.00am to 10.00am
  • Using the online Repeat Prescriptions Form
  • Post enclosing a stamped addressed envelope
  • In person leaving the prescription in the box at Dispensary.

Please be sure to give full and accurate details of the medication you require, including the name and strength by referring to the tear-off slip on the back of your prescription.  Please delete those items that you do not need, to ensure we issue you with your exact requirements.

Please make an appointment in good time if your GP asks to review your medication before your next prescription is due.  Please note that the GPs will not normally prescribe a new medication, or medication you have not taken for some time, without seeing you.

Please allow 72 hours (Monday to Friday) for completion of repeat prescriptions.  Prescriptions can be sent electronically to the chemist of your choice by prior arrangement with the chemist.  We are able to dispense to patients living more than one mile from a chemist.  We stock most common medication and are able to obtain other medication within 24 hours.

If you are using our online repeat prescription service, please ensure you have given us your full contact details.
