Appointments

The Practice doors are open. We kindly ask that whilst you attend the surgery you wear a face covering and use the hand sanitiser provided. Please remember if you have an appointment/dispensary query you need to queue at the main reception desk. If you do not speak to us we and the GP/Nurse/HCA you are seeing do not know you are here.

Appointments/Enquiries

The Triage Team assess all enquiries to improve access to our services. The Triage Team work with and are supervised by the Duty GP. They will ask for clinical information in order to direct you to the most appropriate clinician and the most appropriate appointment. All surgeries are by appointment. Appointments can be made in person, by telephone or online.

.

Doctor Appointments - Using our Triage Telephone System

We have introduced a GP Telephone consultation service to reduce waiting times and improve patient care. These appointments are available to book on the day. The GP will aim to call you within one hour of your appointment time. During this consultation they will assess your need and if they are unable to deal with your request over the telephone, they will book a face to face appointment that day or in the future and arrange any investigations required. The same GP will then follow up any investigations or further appointment needed. This system will give you the continuity of care and avoid you having to make unnecessary trips to the Practice. We also have GP Face to Face appointments available to book on the day that the triage team can book into.

As part of this process all telephone calls will be triaged and you will be asked details of the nature of your call to enable them to assist you more appropriately.  Please aim to call between 8am-11am to enable us to facilitate you on the day.

.

If you are at our Reception and wish to discuss anything in private, please ask a member of the Patient Liaison Team for the use of our dedicated interview room.

.

Urgent Appointments

If your call is urgent please endeavour to call us between 8.00am to 11.00am.  Your call will be triaged by our Triage Team and if your call is deemed as urgent a message will be given to the On Day Duty Team.  They will then assess and make an appointment for you if needed. Our Triage Team can assist with administration requests more efficiently than requesting a call back from the On Day Duty Team.

Urgent appointments are not for repeat prescriptions, fitness for work certificates or for signing forms.

.

Improved Access Appointments

We now offer Telephone Consultation Improved Access Appointments with a GP (subject to availability). These appointments are out of usual surgery hours and available over the weekend. When the appointment is made for you, you will be asked to consent to registering to this service and for the clinician to view your medical record.

Please speak to the Practice during surgery hours if you wish to be booked into this service. Alternatively to contact this service direct please telephone 01905 969864.

Please see attached for further information regarding GP extended hours.

.

Chaperones

All patients are entitled to have a chaperone present for any consultation, examination or procedure where they feel one is required. Sometimes you may wish to be accompanied by a family member or friend. At other times you may wish to have a formal chaperone present i.e. a female member of our clinical team, though at busy times the chaperone may be a member of our support team. Wherever possible please make this request at the time of booking your appointment, so that we can make the necessary arrangements.

Whilst we will always do our best to provide a chaperone if requested, this may necessitate us re-scheduling your appointment for a time when a chaperone can be present. Your healthcare professional may also require a chaperone to be present, for certain consultations, in accordance with our chaperone policy.

.
